• Segregation of items based on value: The items kept in the warehouse or stores shall have different value based on its capacity and weight. The high value items shall be kept near the store keeper or person responsible for maintaining stores in a company so that the person will always keep an eye on the product. The high value Stocktaking represent high margins so that each movement of the item shall be informed to the necessary department immediately.
• Inward and outward register: Each and every items entering the stores and going out of the stores shall be entered in the inward and outward register. The register consists of name of the item, item entered into the stores, mode of dispatch, value of the item, quantity of the item, date of item going out of the stores, signature from the customer. The entries made in the inward and outward register shall be checked during Stock taking to analyze the movement of stocks so that procurement or ordering of items can be made.
• Feeding all items in the computer: The items kept in the Stock takers shall be data entered in to the computer to facilitate easy identification of quantity and value of the product.
